Because of such popular demand, we’re offering a second session of our Electric Production course!
Have you ever wondered how fuels are actually turned into electricity? How all of the machines inside of a power plant work together to generate power? How a turbine really works?
Get down to the nuts and bolts of generating power with HBPW’s Electric Production Superintendent Mike Radakovitz. This class will feature a lecture on how our combined cycle natural gas plant works, some hands-on activities, and a tour of the power plant itself! Participants in this course should wear comfortable, flat, close-toed shoes to class, as well as long pants, to ensure their safety when entering the power plant.
Energy Education Crash Course is an educational series focused on increasing the energy literacy of our community, consisting of four classes detailing different aspects of energy and electricity.
The series is structured in a way that each class builds on the previous classes, but please feel free to register for any of the courses that interest you, regardless if you took the ones before.
Although the courses are free, tickets are limited, so please register ahead of time to guarantee your place. If you register and find yourself unable to attend, please email Hannah at firstname.lastname@example.org to release your tickets.
