Celebrate Earth Day at HEP with a workshop focused on native plants, water conservation, and controlling non-point source pollution! We’ll be hosting Vern Stephens of Designs by Nature LLC for a residential workshop on designing, installing, and maintaining rain garden spaces.
What is a rain garden, anyway? A rain garden is a garden of native shrubs, perennials, and flowers planted in a small depression. It is designed to temporarily hold and soak in rain water runoff that flows from roofs, driveways, patios or lawns. They promote water conservation by requiring far less watering than traditional landscaping, create habitat for native insects and birds, decrease pollution by slowing down and retaining stormwater runoff, and beautify your space with a variety of native perennial plants that will return year after year.
Registration for this workshop is limited, register here!
Plant-based brunch options will be available, in congruence with celebrating Earth Day.
